The Liko Collective draws inspiration from the ʻOhiʻa Lehua tree and the beautiful flowers and Liko (buds) that adorn its branches. These trees - strong, resilient, and graceful - are among the first to settle in the dry, obsidian lava rock habitats of the Big Island. This is in part due to ʻOhiʻa Lehua’s deep and extending root system that can effectively navigate the lava rock crevices below. In this way, ʻOhiʻa Lehua helps start the forest and grows with it. By extension, our professional network aspires to support our clients for the long term as we grow together as a community.
The Liko (buds) of the ʻOhiʻa Lehua tree also play a critical role in harvesting rain water efficiently and gently depositing it into the ground beneath. In desert climates where water is critical, the Liko helps to ensure that the ʻOhiʻa Lehua tree and surrounding area stay nourished and healthy. The nurturing characteristic of the Liko inspire us to devote intentionality, thoughtfulness, and care in all that we do.
